By Skatis Tapia-Steve Jobs, co-founder and CEO of Apple since 1997 died yesterday October 5, 2011 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. In 2004, Jobs announced publicly that he had pancreatic cancer and underwent surgery. In 2009, he had a liver transplant and throughout his fight he took three leaves of absence from Apple, eventually having to step down as Apple’s CEO in August.
The tech genius started his company with high school friend Stephen Wozniak in 1976 from his parents’ garage and today, Apple is the world’s most valuable company.
Steve Jobs changed our media and entertainment world. His creations such as the iPod, iPhone, and iPad changed the way consumers listened to music, navigated the internet and speak on the phone. Steve is considered the greatest CEO of his generation and will truly be remembered for his great products and his brave battle against pancreatic cancer.
Steve Jobs serves as an inspiration to us all. He was a brave fighter, outstanding creative thinker, exceptional entrepreneur and great influential leader.
