Rubby Pérez's Successful Concert

By Skatis Tapia- On Sat., October 8, 2011 at about 8:30 p.m. began the concert in celebration of Rubby Pérez’s 30th anniversary.  The entire concert was a success from beginning to end.  The first performance of Alex Matos, the new sensational Salsa singer, was awesome. He captured the crowd from start to end.  Yunel Cruz, the last performer before Rubby, took over the stage with his Bachata songs.
Rubby Pérez came on stage dressed all in white and was greeted by the fans as a total Merengue king. From the moment he stepped foot on stage you could feel his enthusiasm and connection with the audience. The crowd loved him and he loved the crowd; Rubby sang his best hits and had the support of his fans as they joined him and sang along.  His voice is known to be the highest voice of Merengue; he is an amazing singer.
After he sang a couple of songs, Rubby left the stage and his long time friend and composer Ramon Orlando,  joined the audience playing the piano and singing one of his hits. Rubby, join Ramon Orlando and thanked him for joining him in his 30th anniversary and coming from the Dominican Republic- he really appreciated it.
When the time came and Rubby said his good-byes, the crowd began chanting “otra, otra” meaning another one, another one. He got back on stage and sang a part of “Volvere”. The entire crowd got on their feet. The event was a total success; from the venue, to the audience and the performances. It was the perfect way for Rubby Pérez to celebrate his 30th anniversary in New York.
